Details Acute care hospital Step Down unit with a 1:4 patient ratio Day shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM) Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday for day shift) No on-call requirements Float within scope to lower acuity units as needed Uses Epic charting system Cares for high-acuity patients requiring titration of vasopressors, sedation medication, and insulin drips Manages trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes Requirements Active MO or compact RN license required Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with recent bedside experience within the last 6 months ICU experience or high-acuity stepdown experience required due to unit acuity Trauma Level II experience required Travel RN experience required within the last 6 months Epic charting experience preferred Skilled in arterial line management, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration Skilled in ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation Skilled in cardiac drip titration, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry monitoring Experience with CVA, seizure disorders, and traumatic brain injury care Experience with IV insulin protocols and wound care/wound vac Additional Information Provide comprehensive care for high-acuity stepdown patients including cardiac, neurological, and renal cases Navy scrub color required Facial hair must accommodate proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible First-time travelers are not accepted for this position Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment Standard travelers may work up to 18 months before requiring a 3-month break in service Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility within the health system as a traveler American Traveler Job ID P-750744.
