We are a dynamic business and accounting services firm with an expert staff whose sole focus is our client's success. Our client is a dynamic business and accounting services firm with an expert staff whose sole focus is their client's success. They are looking to add a staff accountant / tax preparer to their team in Diamond Springs, CA to help with tax preparation and full charge bookkeeping. Their preference is either a licensed CPA or an Enrolled Agent, but not required for an expert tax preparer. The position is onsite with flexibility to work remotely 2 days a week once the person is fully established and up and running (typically after 6 months). This is a great opportunity for someone who has interest in owning their own firm, as the owner will be looking to retire in the next few years and would be willing to sell the business at that time to a CPA.

Staff Accountant/Tax Preparer 3+ years of experience required, 5+ years of experience preferred Full charge bookkeeper: Post and/or reconcile all accounts. Verify balances of all balance sheet accounts and related income and expense. Keep depreciation schedules and update books to match. Prepare sales and use tax return. Reconcile payroll and payroll accounts, in-house or outsource payroll processor. Record month end and year end adjusting entries/closing books. Monthly, Quarterly and Annual posting of books for some clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and inventory. Payroll processing backup, including quarterly and annual reporting. 1099 Preparation. 571-L Business Property Statement Preparation Tax Preparation: 1: Individual, corporation, s-corporation, partnership, exempt organization and fiduciary tax preparation. 2: CPA or Enrolled Agent highly preferred Skills: 1: Ability to multi-task and work independently. 2: Must have good communication, writing, analytical and problem-solving skills. Be able to walk clients through things over the phone/computer. 3: Must be detail oriented as we work as a team and will often need to pick up something someone else started. 4: Organize source documents. 5: Follow our checklists and workpapers. 6: Strong computer skills and comfortable learning new programs. 7: Good listener. 8: Great at client relationship. Software: 1: QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks On-Line required 2: Experience in Lacerte preferred 3: Excel experience required 4: Word experience required 5: MANGO a plus 6: Access a plus Please note: Overtime is required from January through April and sometimes during the rest of the year as tax deadlines approach.
