Senior Accountant

Senior AccountantOur client is now the largest commercial line maintenance provider in the Chicagoland area, providing technical handling, aircraft de-icing, and limited ground handling for over 25 Domestic and International Airlines at O'Hare International Airport. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the CFO and is responsible for assisting in all areas of Accounting and Finance. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, general financial management, understanding compliance across business with company policies, support business units in resources to allocation decisions to optimize spending and maximize returns. Essential duties include:Proficient with NetSuite and multi-location reporting, international accounting experience a plusInvolves all aspects of the monthly accounting close process and ownership of the local financialsResponsible for general financial management including business partnering, forecasting, reporting, financial integrity, and controlsPrepare monthly financial statements in accordance with US GAAPIdentify and address finance and accounting issues as they ariseEnsure understanding and compliance across business units with company policies/processes, in such areas as compliance, ethics, finance, and accountingCoordinate with external auditors as neededProactive in driving actions to maximize business opportunities and mitigate issueInfuse cost consciousness and awareness to operations and support business unit in resource allocation decisions to optimize spending and maximize returnsQualifications include:Required knowledge of MS OfficeRequired knowledge of NetSuiteBachelor's degree in accountingMinimum 5 years' experienceStrong Excel and analytical/technical skillsAbility to work independentlyStrong communication skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
