Accounting Intern | Apex Companies The Tone: This is a part-time internship at Apex Companies, located in Oakbrook, IL, with a hybrid schedule requiring one day in the office. Apex Companies offers comprehensive solutions for the material handling industry, covering everything from warehouse and industrial facility design and integration of material handling solutions to optimization of efficiency. They also source and service forklifts, industrial vehicles, and equipment, while providing safety audit and repair services as well as personnel training. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a current accounting or finance student to gain practical experience, supporting the day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities, directly contributing to the financial health and efficiency of the company. The TL;DR Role: Internship / Early Career Type: Part-time assignment (three months) Location: Hybrid, Oakbrook, IL Pay: $20 hourly Team: Reports to a Senior Accountant and works closely with the accounting team. Mission: This person will support day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities to ensure smooth financial processes. Tech Stack: Microsoft Business Central (ideal), Microsoft Excel, accounting software, ERP systems What You'll Actually Do Record: Record essential financial transactions through journal entries. Assist: Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. Support: Help with comprehensive bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations. Assist: Contribute to various month-end close duties for timely financial reporting. The Must-Haves Background: Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; Entry-Level career level. Experience: Experience with accounting software and ERP systems; no specific years required. Skills: Strong understanding of US-GAAP and external audit requirements; strong problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset; excellent communication skills for team collaboration; ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines.
