Manufacturing Technician 2 | Tewksbury, Massachusetts, United States About the Role Join our dynamic team in Tewksbury, MA as a Manufacturing Technician 2, where you'll play a vital role in assembling and testing electrical and mechanical components. Enjoy a Monday-Friday schedule with flexibility in your start time (6:00, 6:30, or 7:00am EST). This contract position offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced, electronics manufacturing environment, with robust training and opportunities to develop new skills. Responsibilities - Assemble and perform functional testing on a range of electrical and mechanical parts and sub-assemblies by following detailed work instructions. - Support inventory, equipment management, and complete transactions within the Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) system. - Actively participate in daily team meetings, sharing challenges and improvement ideas. - Adhere to regulatory requirements, including ESD protocols, and maintain a clean and organized work area. - Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, 5S, and other process enhancement events. - Collaborate with cross-departmental teams including engineering and marketing to ensure seamless production flow. - Rework and reassemble units for failure analysis or development activities, applying personal judgment for complex assignments. - Maintain a safe workplace by following 5S organizational procedures and company policies. Required Skills and Experience - At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing, production, operations, or a laboratory setting. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Able to work independently and as part of a team, exhibiting initiative and problem-solving abilities. - Comfortable using computers for data entry and basic mathematical calculations. - Strong adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and company guidelines. Preferred Skills - Soldering proficiency. - Detail-oriented approach. - Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite. - Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
