Together with partners like Mazama Energy—who are proving that scalable, carbon‑free power from the Earth is not just possible but achievable—we can inspire and redefine what it means to supply our friends, neighbors, and families with the products they love. Because when we tap into the energy beneath us, we lift up everyone around us. We are seeking an experienced geothermal exploration and development geologist that would assess geothermal resource potential, identifying and maturing promising sites and prospects, conducting play fairway analysis, supporting drilling and coring campaigns, and applying subsurface modeling to advance EGS projects from early‑stage concept through exploration, appraisal, and development. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with geoscience, drilling, reservoir, and stimulation engineering teams to integrate geological, geophysical, geochemical, and well‑site data into geothermal reservoir development, management, and field operations. Key Responsibilities Strong technical background and experience in geothermal systems, particularly high‑temperature EGS or next‑generation geothermal. Proven track record in geothermal exploration and development, including site screening, play fairway analysis, heat‑in‑place assessment, drilling plans, well placement, horizontal well trajectories, and well drilling support. Experience overseeing or supporting geothermal drilling operations, including mud logging, coring, drilling execution, geologic wellsite supervision, and post‑drill data integration. Experience with geophysical data acquisition, crystalline rock geology, hydrogeology, structural geology, volcanology, and geochemistry applied to geothermal exploration and development. Education Minimum Master’s required, PhD a plus, in Geology, Geophysics, or a related field. Qualities Proficiency in integrating multiple subsurface datasets, including well logs, core data, mud logs, magnetotelluric (MT), gravity, well tests, geochemistry, seismic, and micro seismic data. Experience with industry‑standard geoscience software such as Leapfrog. ArcGIS experience is highly desirable. 401k with automatic elective deferral amount of 3% Health/Dental/Vision insurance plans Paid time off 10 paid holidays Stock purchase plan EEO Statement We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
