Safety and Health Coordinator - Senior (Hybrid Schedule in Plaquemine or Geismar, LA)

Job Summary ONEOK is hiring a Safety & Health Coordinator – Senior who will provide safety and health leadership and support for two fractionation facilities in Louisiana and a ship dock facility. The role partners closely with Operations, facility leadership, and the Safety & Health team to maintain safe, compliant, and high‑performing work environments while supporting the integration of the region into ONEOK’s culture. The candidate should reside within one hour of Plaquemine or Geismar, Louisiana and will work a hybrid schedule following a 4‑9‑4 pattern Monday through Friday, with less than 25% overnight travel. Job Profile Summary Uses extensive safety and health experience to analyze, develop, and identify S&H improvement opportunities. Implements S&H programs and processes to meet regulatory compliance and ONEOK’s Environmental, Safety, and Health Management System Framework expectations, and may act as a lead to less experienced safety and health colleagues. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Lead the development, implementation, and improvement of S&H procedures and practices through risk recognition and communication. Identify, communicate, and solve S&H risks and regulatory requirements to management and peers, recommending control and compliance measures when appropriate. Provide information and consultation to key stakeholders—including employees, customers, contractors, and governmental officials—regarding proper S&H practices. Lead the investigation of significant and complex safety incidents such as employee accidents, property damage, compliance deviations, and near misses. Administer the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of S&H training for employees and contractors. Conduct S&H job‑site inspections and recommend control measures. Conduct comprehensive workplace assessments for potential industrial hygiene risks (chemical, noise, radiation) or engage third‑party resources when necessary. Analyze, interpret, identify trends, present, and recommend mitigation measures to improve S&H performance. Provide guidance and direction to other staff members, and may lead and direct the work of others. Education Bachelor’s Degree in environmental, safety, or health, or a related field. Work Experience Extensive experience monitoring, analyzing, and making recommendations relative to compliance with safety and health governmental regulations and industry best practices. Experience composing, compiling, and preparing reports and correspondence. Experience interacting, advising, training, and communicating effectively. Experience developing information and making presentations. Extensive experience with environmental, safety, and health instrumentation, tools, and equipment. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to apply math and algebraic formulas. Knowledge of OSHA regulations—General & Construction Industry, Industrial Hygiene, and ESH Management System principles. Ability to communicate and exchange information in writing and verbally; conduct oral presentations. Licenses and Certifications Certified Sales Professional (CSP) preferred. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred. Physical Demands / Requirements Sedentary work: may require lifting up to 10 lbs occasionally.
