About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year in nursing specialty preferred License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA only) Must-Have: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred. Description: The competent Nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. Continuously develops the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage clinical situations. Meets expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. In accordance with the nursing process, provides nursing care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources. All newly hired experienced RNs must attend orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member, and initial onboarding requirements are validated through successful completion of designated competency validations. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is needed.
