Job Summary Location: Methodist Women's Hospital, 707 N. 190th Plaza – Elkhorn, NE Work Schedule: 1 rotating shift per week Shift hours are 11:00pm to 7:00am Monday‑Friday and 7:00pm to 7:00am Saturday‑Sunday Responsibilities Provides appropriate care specific to the age of the customer/patient to ensure understanding and comfort level of treatment as outlined in the age‑specific criteria. Demonstrates ability to identify opportunities for and give individualized customer service/patient care according to customer/patient needs. Ensures compliance with standards relating to operations, safety, patient care, and regulatory agencies, and participates in professional organizations and continuing education. Manages human and fiscal resources within budgetary guidelines, adjusts staffing, and participates in effective supply and equipment management. Maintains a safe work environment, implements preventative measures, and supports practice or process changes related to risk management data. Maintains a positive work environment that promotes employee development, involvement, and satisfaction, communicates relevant information to staff, and ensures equitable treatment of all employees. Maintains a collaborative relationship with Medical Staff, solicits physician input, shares information regarding initiatives, and follows through on concerns. Job Requirements Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing are required. Experience: Minimum of two years as a staff nurse. License/Certifications: Current valid Nebraska RN license, compact multistate license, or temporary permit while awaiting licensure; Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred at hire, required within 3 months; Current Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certification required. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Knowledge of professional nursing concepts and 24‑hr unit operation; management concepts; proficiency with nursing techniques and support equipment; communication, training, emergency handling, meeting facilitation, problem‑solving, proposal writing, and adaptability. Physical Requirements: Ability to exert up to 50 pounds; perform tasks such as climbing, crawling, kneeling, balancing, carrying, gripping, holding, reaching, and walking; manage repetitive motions and maintain standing or stooping/bending. Job Hazards and Safety: Work involves exposure to medical hazards including blood or body fluid, noise, temperature variations, sharps, and potential chemical, electrical, and radiation risks as typical in a hospital setting.
