The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are key responsibilities. The RN assists in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. Staff supervision includes both licensed and non-licensed personnel. The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. Patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction are priorities. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff are also part of the RN's role. Job Responsibilities: Assessment involves performing assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition, demonstrating sound independent decision-making. Development and implementation involve initiating, prioritizing, and implementing the plan of care while collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Evaluation includes monitoring and documenting responses to clinical interventions. Education includes facilitating, coordinating, providing, and evaluating education specific to patient and family needs, both during their stay and at discharge. Leadership includes delegating tasks, functioning as a mentor/preceptor, and encouraging teamwork. The RN identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement and participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Compliance with regulatory standards is a requirement. Participation in the practice governance model is essential.
