Human Resources Generalist

Position Details Human Resources Generalist, Full‑time, typically M-F 8:00-5:00, may occasionally need to work evening and weekend hours. Salaried, Exempt; Non-Union Position Summary The Human Resource Generalist will assist with the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department, including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. Requirements Education : High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Experience : 3‑5 years of experience as an HR Generalist, HR Assistant or Administrative Assistant role required. SHRM certification preferred. Solid understanding/experience with human resources and payroll processes Benefit & compensation administration Recruitment & onboarding processes Handling employee relations issues Organizational planning & development FMLA/leave administration Employment law compliance (FLSA, ADEA, EEO, ADA, FMLA etc.) Performance management Employee development Corrective action Employee investigations Regulatory reporting Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews (structured, competency‑based, stress etc.) Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality Thorough knowledge of employment‑related laws and regulations High level of interpersonal skills and professionalism to handle sensitive and confidential situations Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn to use the organization’s Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and talent management systems Lake Health District is an equal opportunity employer and, as such, considers individuals for employment according to their abilities and performance.
