The Procurement Specialist plays a key role in sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring raw materials, packaging, and indirect goods essential for our beverage production. We need someone who can ensure cost efficiency, quality standards, and a seamless supply chain to support our manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities Source and purchase raw materials and packaging components effectively. Monitor and manage inventory levels in cooperation with production planning for timely material availability. Guarantee an uninterrupted supply of critical materials by proactively addressing supplier capacity and lead times. Develop and maintain strategic safety stock and buffer levels for high-demand or long-lead-time items. Identify potential supply disruptions and create contingency plans, including alternative suppliers. Work with suppliers to predict demand and ensure supply commitments are aligned with production needs. Assess supplier performance and troubleshoot issues like shortages or quality concerns promptly. Utilize MRP/ERP systems to transform purchase requisitions into purchase orders that align with production demands. Analyze MRP outputs to ensure order accuracy relative to inventory targets. Revise purchasing plans in response to changes in production schedules and inventory levels. Maintain precise data (like lead times and minimum order quantities) in the ERP system. Collaborate with planning teams to optimize order cycles, minimize excess inventory, and avoid stockouts. Compensation and Benefits The anticipated salary range for this role is $66,900 - $111,950. Your starting salary will be influenced by your location, skills, experience, and education, with more details provided during the hiring process. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience 2-5+ years of procurement experience, preferably in food or beverage manufacturing. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). Skills Strong negotiation and vendor management capabilities are a plus! Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Excel and data analysis. Good understanding of supply chain processes and inventory management. Knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, HACCP) is advantageous.
