As part of the Douglas County Environmental Health team, theEnvironmental Health Specialist I performs inspections and investigations ofpublic and private establishments and other environmental situations to ensurecompliance with local and state health and safety codes. Working assignedprogram to include either retail food establishments, childcares, and body artfacilities, or Onsite Waste Treatment Systems (septics), swimming pools, wastetires and landfills, environmental record reviews. Generally, the hiring range is $60,557-$75,696 annually. Qualifications, education and experience as it relates to the position will be taken into consideration when determining hiring salary. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for someone who brings sound judgment, strongcommunication skills, attention to detail and a service-oriented approach. Theideal candidate will have an a bachelor’s degree from ananaccredited college or university with major coursework in Environmental Health,or a related field, one year of professional experience in a related program;or in lieu of bachelor’s degree, incumbent must have four years of professionalexperience in a related program. A combination of experience and education maybe considered. Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License upon hire, withcomplying insurance.
