The Model Risk Management role within the Risk & Compliance function, accountable for the strategic direction, oversight and effectiveness of the Model Risk Management (MRM) framework across BNY. The role is responsible for the design and implementation of the model risk framework, policies and standards ensuring that model risks are identified, measured, monitored, mitigated and transparently governed in line with regulatory expectations and internal risk appetite.Operating within the Model Risk Management job family, this role applies standards for model lifecycle governance, influences firm‑wide model strategy and ensures that model risk considerations are embedded in applicable business activities.By driving strong risk culture, transparency and effective challenge, the role directly supports BNY’s strategic pillars of delivering resilient and trusted platforms, protecting clients and the firm, and enabling sustainable growth.We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Governance Manager of Risk/Compliance Testing Group (2LoD) to join our Model Risk team. This role is located in New York City, New York. In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: Maintain policies, standards, and procedures, and propose changes to process and controls as needed.Oversee RCAT operations and ensure timelines and quality work product meet standards and framework requirements.Support governance and reporting process by contributing to internal RCAT meetings, key stakeholder meetings, forums, and committees.Support communication model and provide training related to testing methodology to RCAT team members.Anticipate and respond to stakeholder requests/meetings and ensure the function’s practices remain aligned with industry best practice and regulatory expectations.Engage with Internal Audit on testing to streamline coverage and communicate status of open issues and validation results.To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: Bachelor’s degree (in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting, Risk Management, or Law), or an equivalent combination of education. Direct experience in governance, risk, compliance, and/or audit roles. Governance, Compliance, Risk, Control and/or Testing proficiency. Demonstrate record of thought leadership in control testing domains.Typically, 10+ years of experienceStrong strategic leadership, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to provide credible challenge and partner effectively with senior executives, regulators and cross‑functional teams.Exceptional risk judgment and decision‑making capabilities, with the ability to balance innovation and business needs. At BNY, our culture allows us to run our company better and enables employees’ growth and success.
