The HVAC Construction/Duct Mechanic plays a vital role in installing and fabricating HVAC systems across residential, commercial, and new construction environments. This position requires hands-on expertise with ductwork, welding, soldering, and equipment handling to ensure efficient and reliable climate control system installations. The ideal candidate is skilled in reading plans, maintaining jobsite cleanliness, and communicating effectively with contractors, while adhering to safety practices and occasionally working overtime when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Install HVAC systems including air handlers, package units, rooftop units, and refrigeration components
• Fabricate and move ductwork using fiberglass, flex, and metal materials
• Perform welding and soldering, particularly on copper lines
• Read and interpret blueprints and plans to guide installation processes
• Maintain accurate written and electronic records for each job
• Communicate effectively with contractors and team members
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of assigned company vehicles and jobsites
• Comply with all safety procedures and work safely in confined spaces
• Occasionally work after hours, weekends, overtime, and emergency holidays as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in HVAC construction
• Technical certification in HVAC or a related field
• Experience in duct fabrication and construction
• Proficiency in soldering copper lines and welding
• Skilled in interpreting plans and blueprints
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems and air handler installation
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and compliance
• Excellent communication skills
• Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Competence in maintaining detailed records
