About the Position The General Accountant works closely with the Accounting Manager and is reportable to the Chief Operating Officer and is an important member of Rimland's Finance team. You will be responsible for providing accounting services including review of financial statements and supporting schedules and work papers. Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances Preparing financial statements Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules Entering into QuickBooks Online, vendor invoices as received and other entries as necessary Coordinate with audit professionals in year-end audit reporting Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations on a monthly basis and continually look to improve existing procedures. Prepare and submit monthly billings for services provided by Rimland What Makes You A Great Fit Undergraduate degree, or comparable, in Accounting or Finance 1 - 3 years of accounting/finance experience Knowledge and experience with QuickBooks Online Strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel Strong working knowledge of financial statements Ability to review open work and produce timely and accurate records Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results Applicants must be presently legally authorized to work in the United States for any U.S employer Location & Schedule Location: Des Plaines, IL Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00PM Benefits Generous paid leave Group health, dental and vision insurance after 90 days of employment 401(k) retirement plan (eligible after 1 year) A monthly personal fitness stipend Requirements You must meet the following requirements: Pass: A fingerprint criminal background check A child abuse and neglect check A drug screen.
