Fund Accountant/Trade Operations

Job Description
Our client, a NYC-based multi-billion-dollar hedge fund manager running a long/short equity strategy, with a lean, collaborative team is hiring. The firm is seeking an experienced Fund Accounting/Trade Operations professional to join its Finance team. This is a hands-on role that sits at the intersection of fund accounting, trade support, and investor reporting. The successful candidate will own critical reconciliation and month-end processes, oversee the work of the fund administrator, and be a credible, confident point of contact for the portfolio management team.
\nThe firm is 5 days in office located in New York City, NY.
\n \nKey Responsibilities
\n• Perform daily and monthly trade, cash, and position reconciliations
\n• Review NAV packages from the fund administrator, including investor allocations, management and performance fee calculations, and capital activity
\n• Lead the month-end close of the books, including preparation of the monthly trial balance and investor allocations
\n• Assist with trade booking and settlement, including investigating and resolving trade fails
\n• Support day-to-day operations and serve as a knowledgeable contact for the portfolio manager(s), able to discuss positions, activity, and operational matters
\n• Partner cross-functionally with the administrator, prime brokers, and internal teams to resolve breaks and ensure timely, accurate reporting
\n \nQualifications:
\nRequired
\n• 3+ years of relevant experience in hedge fund accounting or fund administration
\n• Strong technical knowledge of long/short equity strategies, fund structures, and partnership accounting
\n• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with accounting and reporting systems
\n• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
\n• High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a strong sense of ownership
\nPreferred
\n• CPA (strongly preferred)
\n• Prior experience working with a fund administrator; experience with SS&C is a plus
