Senior Compliance Analyst

Job Summary Performs compliance testing, document support and government forms preparation for complex retirement plan clients, ensuring plans remain tax qualified by meeting IRS and DOL reporting and testing requirements. Essential Functions Investigate and clarify client data or census problems. Prepare non‑discrimination, top‑heavy, coverage and 415 annual addition tests on complex plans, including additional compliance testing such as 401(a)(4). Review testing and/or government forms. Maintain client database and enter changes into record‑keeping software. Complete testing and ensure quality‑control audit is performed. Serve as technical expertise to compliance analysts and provide resolutions to support business. Allocate employer profit‑sharing, matching or money‑purchase pension contributions based on plan provisions and submit to plan sponsor for approval. Calculate contribution corrections or top‑heavy minimum contributions for plan sponsors. Communicate test results and recommend solutions to clients when failures are identified. Produce reports from record‑keeping system for preparation of government forms. Prepare Form 5500 and related schedules using government forms software. Submit financial reports and Form 5500 package for review, correction, approval and submission to client and governing agency. Prepare plan‑document restatements and amendments as requested by plan sponsor. Interpret prior plan‑document history. Work with administration team to produce distributions or allocations of contributions or forfeitures based on client approval, ensuring deadlines are met. Consult, recommend and implement resolutions to client issues, ensuring customer loyalty. Maintain up‑to‑date awareness of legislative changes, IRS rulings and expert opinions related to retirement plan processing. Research new issues to determine their impact on plan qualification status and communicate with manager on daily processing issues. Consistently meet and/or exceed performance expectations, working under pressure in a fast‑paced environment. Engage in continuous learning, collaborate openly with colleagues, and maintain regular, reliable, punctual attendance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field or equivalent industry experience. 4+ years’ experience in employee benefits. Experience in testing and Form5500 preparation. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Preferred: ASPPA certification; ASC preferred.
