Press Brake Operator
We are seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator to become part of our team. The Press Brake Operator will be responsible for independently setting up and operating press brake equipment to bend and form metal components according to engineering drawings and production requirements.
Compensation
Base Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour , based on experience and skill level.
In addition to base hourly pay, employees have the opportunity to earn production-based commission through our Team Productivity Model (TPM) . This additional compensation is based on team production and productivity performance and is not a traditional sales commission. Commission earnings are performance-based and are not guaranteed.
Responsibilities
* Set up and operate CNC press brake equipment.
* Independently set up jobs, including selecting and installing the correct tooling.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job specifications.
* Determine bend sequences and proper machine setup.
* Measure and inspect parts to ensure they meet drawing specifications and required tolerances.
* Make machine adjustments and bend corrections as necessary.
* Check bend angles, dimensions, and part quality throughout production.
* Identify and troubleshoot forming, tooling, and setup issues.
* Rework parts when necessary to meet drawing specifications.
* Safely move materials and completed parts using a forklift.
* Deliver completed parts to the next department.
* Maintain a clean and organized machine and work area.
* Work as part of a team and communicate with scheduling and other departments as production requirements change.
Qualifications
* Previous press brake operating experience is REQUIRED.
* Previous press brake setup experience is REQUIRED.
* Must be capable of setting up and operating a press brake independently.
* Experience working in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment is required.
* Ability to accurately read a tape measure is REQUIRED .
* Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, squares, and angle gauges.
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and blueprints is REQUIRED .
* Knowledge of press brake tooling, bend angles, bend sequences, material thickness, and metal forming.
* Ability to troubleshoot bends and make adjustments to produce parts within specification.
* Forklift experience is preferred.
* Ability to handle a physical workload and stand for extended periods.
* Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to changing production and customer requirements.
Work Environment
Please note that we work in a manufacturing facility located outside of Houston, Texas . The building is insulated but NOT climate controlled .
During the summer, temperatures inside the facility can reach approximately 105°ree;F with high humidity . During the winter, temperatures can drop into the mid-30s°ree;F .
