Our products are used in building, aerospace, automotive, transportation, filtration and energy industries worldwide. Pay Range: $114,700.00–$157,700.00 per year. This range reflects the base salary; additional incentive bonus is available based on performance. Position Overview The Production Superintendent oversees product manufacturing, finished product quality and raw material management for multiple lines in a 24‑hour manufacturing process. The role includes employee training and development, communication and support of Johns Manville corporate goals, and safety, productivity and product quality targets. The superintendent also serves as acting plant manager in the manager’s absence and supports plant leadership in continuous improvement initiatives. Day to Day Responsibilities Safety – Actively support improvement of safety performance by reducing OSHA incident rate and lost‑time accidents to 0. Quality – Manage product manufacturing, finished product quality and raw material management for the operation. Leadership – Supervise manufacturing resources to meet production goals and prepare budgets and standards for cost measurement. Process & Cost Control – Develop and administer material and labor usage controls and metrics; plan and schedule work to utilize equipment and maintain maximum productivity levels. Performance Management – Conduct performance evaluations, pay reviews, hiring, and termination decisions for supervisory staff. Continuous Improvement – Lead, partner with Plant Leadership, and implement change management and continuous improvement projects. Safety & Compliance – Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, safety regulations and environmental requirements. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in management, engineering or a related field. Minimum 5 years of operational leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong supervisory and leadership skills, with proven ability to diagnose and solve process issues. Experience managing a large workforce (minimum 360 employees, including union). Proficient in SAP or ERP systems; strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) skills. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and within a team. Physical ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 25 pounds and to work in a manufacturing environment (heat, cold, noise, dust, moving machinery). Work Environment Typical manufacturing facility with exposure to cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust mist/gas fumes and extensive walking or climbing. Physical requirements include lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 25 pounds (no more than 10 days of travel required).
