Our Mission The Boxwood Learning Center, Inc. is a 501 C 3 non-profit organization. Our mission is to create learning environments for supporting the whole person by way of tutoring, mentoring, and career exploration. We work to expose young people to careers in the science, technology, engineering, and math fields. Lastly, we provide supportive guidance to youth until they graduate from college or post-secondary programs. We support champions on their pathway to success
- Free food & snacks

- Wellness resources
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions for students (ages 10 - 15) in a variety of subjects
- Assess student needs and tailor instructional strategies to support individual learning goals
- Assist students with homework, test preparation, and skill-building exercises
- Track and monitor student progress and communicate updates to center staff
- Create a positive, encouraging, and structured learning environment
- Collaborate with center staff to align tutoring sessions with student academic plans
- Maintain accurate session notes and attendance records
- Experience tutoring, teaching, or working with school-age children
- Must have a driving license
- Strong knowledge in core academic subjects such as math, reading, writing, or science
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, encouraging, and adaptable teaching style
- Ability to work afternoon/after school hours in four locations - Hillside, Roselle, Rahway and Plainfield. Mileage reimbursement available.
- High school diploma required; college coursework in Education or related field preferred
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to student success
