Hecht Schondorf LLC is seeking an organized, detail-oriented paralegal with 3–5 years of experience to support attorneys and help keep matters moving from intake through resolution. This is a hybrid position based at our office, conveniently located off I-94.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who understands court procedures, communicates professionally, and follows through on details and deadlines. Litigation experience is required. Experience in family law, probate, or estate planning is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and e-file court documents; track filings, deadlines, and case status.
• Draft legal documents, correspondence, and routine client communications for attorney review.
• Communicate with court personnel about filings, scheduling, and procedural matters, and submit courtesy copies when required.
• Coordinate service of subpoenas, request medical records, and assist with discovery requests and responses.
• Schedule client appointments and coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and other attorneys.
• Gather, organize, and maintain client documents and case files.
• Keep attorneys informed of upcoming deadlines, outstanding items, and next steps.
• Provide responsive, professional communication to clients throughout their matters.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of paralegal experience, including litigation support.
• Familiarity with court processes and electronic filing.
• Strong drafting, proofreading, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and execute assignments with minimal supervision.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, timely work.
• Experience in family law, probate, or estate planning is preferred.

Work arrangement: Hybrid; office conveniently located off I-94 in Northbrook, IL.
