Key Responsibilities

• Administer direct patient care following the individualized treatment plans established by physical therapists, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques.
• Document and maintain meticulous records, including progress notes and discharge summaries, in compliance with departmental policies and Electronic Health Record (EHR) requirements.
• Ensure that patient safety is a top priority by responding appropriately to emergency situations and following established protocols.
• Participate actively in the quality improvement efforts within the department, including chart reviews and feedback sessions.
• Assist in the education and guidance of both patients and their families regarding therapeutic exercises, equipment use, and recovery processes.
• Perform additional duties as necessary, contributing to a flexible and dynamic patient care environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA plays a crucial role in the rehabilitation of patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions. You will work primarily with a diverse range of patients, including athletes, elderly individuals, and those recovering from musculoskeletal disorders. Your ability to develop rapport and trust with patients will be essential in promoting adherence to treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of New York.
• A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.
• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a clinical setting.
• Proficiency in administering therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and rehabilitation methodologies.
• Exceptional communication skills, with a focus on providing quality, patient-centered care.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
