Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)

Must-Have: Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology. Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Injection certification preferred; must be willing to complete during orientation process.

Description: Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan. Strictly adhere to department policy and procedure for patient safety. Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging. Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable. Insert IVs when necessary for the test. Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility while utilizing safe patient handling. Maintain accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within the system. Ensure identifying images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion. Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility. Effective written and verbal communication skills are required. A patient and compassionate disposition is essential. Must be a team player who can maintain a cohesive working environment.
