Material Handler

This role focuses on operating a sit-down Drexel forklift to move, stage, and prepare materials for shipment in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. You will spend most of your day on a forklift, supporting efficient warehouse operations by pulling orders, unloading trucks, and wrapping pallets while maintaining a safe and organized work area.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down Drexel forklift safely and efficiently for approximately 70% of the workday.
• Pull customer orders accurately and stage them at the dock in preparation for shipment.
• Unload incoming trucks and move materials to designated storage or production areas.
• Wrap pallets securely to ensure product stability and protection during transport.
• Handle materials, inventory, and products with care to prevent damage and maintain quality standards.
• Work off the forklift as needed to pick orders, organize inventory, and assist with general warehouse tasks.
• Lift and move items up to 40 lbs as part of daily material handling activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in alignment with facility standards.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines related to forklift operation and warehouse activities.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency operating a sit-down forklift, preferably Drexel forklifts or similar equipment.
• At least 1 year of warehouse experience in a material handling or similar role.
• Experience with order pulling, picking, and staging materials for shipment.
• Ability to safely unload trucks using a sit-down forklift.
• Skill in wrapping pallets securely for shipping and storage.
• Capability to work off the forklift and perform manual material handling tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs safely and repeatedly during the shift.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order pulling and inventory handling.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining an organized work area.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing or production facility.
• Familiarity with inventory handling and warehouse organization practices.
• Comfort working with Drexel forklifts, which maneuver differently than standard sit-down forklifts.
• Reliability in maintaining consistent attendance during scheduled shifts.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility that is climate controlled, clean, and well organized. You will primarily operate a sit-down Drexel forklift, which offers unique maneuverability compared to standard forklifts, and you will also perform manual material handling tasks off the forklift. The work involves regular lifting of up to 40 lbs and active movement throughout the warehouse. The shift runs from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, providing a consistent four-day workweek schedule.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
