Brake Press Operator - 1st Shift
Reports To: Plant Manager
Pay:$22/hr
Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and dependable Brake Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Brake Press Operator will set up and operate press brake machinery to bend and shape sheet metal according to blueprints and production specifications.The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Set up and operate press brake equipment
• Select and install appropriate punches, dies, and tooling
• Accurately position and align sheet metal for bending
• Program CNC controls, including bend angles, pressure, and back gauge settings
• Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed
• Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications
• Identify and troubleshoot production or equipment issues
• Check finished products for defects, burrs, and dimensional accuracy
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic maintenance of equipment
• Follow all safety and quality procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-year degree OR 5 years of equivalent manufacturing experience
• Previous brake press or metal fabrication experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of metal bending processes
• Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
• Basic math skills, including measurements and angles
• Familiarity with CNC controls and programming
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Self-motivated and dependable

• Regular exposure to machinery and manufacturing noise
• Ability to safely handle and lift materials as required
• Must be able to follow all company safety procedures
