Principal Engineer

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking applicants for a mid-level engineer for the planning, design, and construction administration for water/wastewater assignments. The preferred candidate will have the following qualifications and requirements. Educational Requirements: · Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an ABET accredited US University focusing on civil, mechanical, chemical, environmental engineering or construction management. Job Description:

• At least 5 years of experience in planning, design, or construction of water-related projects including pumping, piping, or treatment facilities. Experience or course work in construction management, scheduling, and document control a plus.
• Experience related to preparing conceptual/feasibility studies, development of construction drawings and specifications, bidding assistance, and support of office and field-related construction services preferred. Good understanding of hydraulics and conveyance systems including gravity, low pressure, and vacuum systems a plus.
• Preference to reside within Roanoke area or relocate within 6 months.
• Familiarity with engineering and construction management software.

Must be a PE or ability to obtain within 12 months. Candidate shall be capable of supervising junior staff and managing small projects.
