Within TAPSS, the Posting Product Team is one of our largest and most mission-critical product groups, responsible for the accurate, timely, and resilient posting of trading activity across Schwab's brokerage ecosystem.The Senior Product Owner, Transaction Posting System is a hands-on, technically fluent Product Owner who lives inside the sprint — grooming the backlog, writing stories, clarifying requirements in real time, partnering through development, driving UAT, and helping engineering resolve issues quickly. This role is the daily bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams and will play a central role as team pivots toward an AI-Driven Development Life Cycle (AIDLC) operating model.Key ResponsibilitiesThis Product Owner will serve as the day-to-day voice of the business inside the scrum teams, ensuring every sprint delivers clear, correct, and valuable outcomes. The role is deeply engaged in the mechanics of Agile delivery — backlog, stories, refinement, sprint execution, UAT, defect triage, and release readiness — while also connecting across the broader product group to keep work aligned. The Senior Product Owner will:Own and continuously groom the product backlog, keeping it prioritized, refined, and at least 2 sprints ready for engineeringWrite clear, well-structured user stories, acceptance criteria, technical enablers, and definition-of-done that engineering teams can execute against without ambiguityPartner daily with engineering, QA, architecture, and SRE teams through sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, demos, retrospectives, and release readiness reviewsServe as the go-to decision-maker for scope, requirement clarifications, and trade-offs during the sprint — available to unblock the team in real timeLead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, scenario design, coordination with business testers, defect triage, sign-off, and readiness for production releaseTriage defects and production issues, work with engineering to reproduce and resolve, prioritize fixes against roadmap work, and communicate status back to stakeholdersTranslate complex trading, clearing, settlement, and posting business flows into clear requirements and stories, ensuring engineering teams understand the "why" behind the "what"Partner with business stakeholders, operations, downstream consumers, and upstream feeders to gather requirements, validate designs, walk through mockups/flows, and confirm outcomesCoordinate across the broader product group — a large, multi-team organization — to align on shared dependencies, sequencing, integration points, and cross-team storiesChampion practical and responsible use of GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and other approved AI-enabled tools across the SDLC — story authoring, acceptance criteria generation, test case creation, documentation, defect analysis, and release notes — while validating outputs for accuracy and appropriatenessHelp lead the team's adoption of AIDLC (AI-Driven Development Life Cycle) practices, partnering with engineering to embed AI-enabled tooling into requirements, development, testing, and support workflowsMaintain product documentation, decision logs, and knowledge artifacts in Confluence/SharePoint so the team, partners, and downstream consumers have a single source of truthDrive things to done — remove ambiguity, force decisions, escalate blockers, and hold the line on sprint commitments and qualityWhat you haveTo ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.Required Qualifications:Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship now nor in the future6+ years of experience in product ownership, business analysis, application development, or related technology delivery rolesDemonstrated experience leading UAT cycles — planning, coordinating business testers, triaging defects, and driving sign-off and release readinessStrong technology background — prior experience as a developer, engineer, architect, QA, or deeply technical BA/PO — with the ability to engage credibly in system design, APIs, data, and integrationsDemonstrated business and domain knowledge of trading, brokerage operations, post-trade processing, transaction posting, clearing, or settlementProven track record of driving stories from concept through production in a large, multi-team product organizationStrong story-writing and acceptance-criteria discipline, backlog grooming rigor, and sprint execution ownershipExperience partnering with engineering to triage and resolve defects and production issuesProficiency with Jira, Confluence, Rally, or equivalent Agile delivery toolingProficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and OutlookPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree/master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Finance, or equivalent work experienceHands-on experience applying AIDLC (AI-Driven Development Life Cycle) practices.Knowledge of crypto trading, digital assets, or crypto books-and-records is a strong plus — as there will be cross domain intersections within books and records, crypto books and records, and posting.
