Veterinary Technician Canyon Creek Animal Clinic Richardson, TX Canyon Creek Animal Clinic is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team. We provide primary care, diagnostic testing, acupuncture and a variety of surgical services for dogs and cats in Richardson, Plano and North Dallas. We are proud to be feline friendly. As a Veterinary Technician you will play an important role by providing hands‑on care, facilitating outpatient treatments, performing laboratory tests, and supporting admission and discharge processes. Experience & Skills Requirements 2 years of continuous veterinary technician/assistant experience (direct animal/patient care required) Must be able to work weekends (Saturdays) and certain holidays Able to obtain blood pressure, ECG, SpO2, and EtCO2 and integrate clinical signs with disease processes to assist doctors in early and appropriate intervention of patient care. Comfortable utilizing digital radiography machines to acquire images using proper technique and positioning. Prepare animals and instruments for surgery. Provide surgical assistance and post‑operative care. Desire to practice empathetic, gold‑standard medicine benefiting our patients. Team oriented with the ability to collaborate and support each other. Positive, kind, and trustworthy communication with patients, team members, and clients. Have the desire to constantly grow and advance as a veterinary technician. Role Responsibilities Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients. Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow. Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state’s Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians. Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments. Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems. Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts. Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs. Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
