The Opportunity As a Member Support Specialist you will be an ambassador for patients in office, using human connection and strong service skills to remove barriers to care. You will steward the lobby space, be the first point of contact for patient feedback, and support the Practice Coordinator, Operations Manager or in‑office providers. You are a team player who tackles challenges with empathy, communication, and growth mindset. Schedule: full‑time (40 hrs/week) 7:30 am‑7:00 pm, Monday‑Friday, at the Upper West Side office (252 W 81st St) with occasional coverage at Columbus Circle, Manhattan Valley, and Rockefeller Center. Salary: competitive base pay of $24.00‑$26.00 per hour, with a 1.25 differential for eligible extended hours. What You’ll Likely Work On Use the C‑I‑CARE framework in all patient interactions, ensuring a positive in‑office experience through patient intake, same‑day schedule management, follow‑up scheduling, and billing/insurance knowledge. Perform front‑of‑house duties including check‑in/check‑out, insurance verification, paperwork, test pre‑p, and other tasks to meet service expectations. Contribute to team development through rounding, huddles, problem‑solving, and supporting providers with ad‑hoc requests. Master the technology suite (Slack, G‑suite, Zoom, 1Life EMR) to interact with team members and patients and complete daily work. Perform opening, closing, and daily office upkeep, including maintaining the look and feel of patient and employee spaces and restocking supplies. What You’ll Need At least 1 year of high‑touch customer or patient‑facing experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience working on collaborative, diverse, and feedback‑driven multidisciplinary teams. A proven track record of persisting through change, thinking forward under pressure, and stepping up to take action on challenges. Proficiency with computer technology—including typing, internet navigation, and simultaneous use of multiple software systems. Physical Demands Mostly sedentary work requiring occasional exertion up to ten pounds of force and frequent small amounts of force. May involve brief walking or standing periods.
