POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Coordinator supports the Quality Assurance and Food Safety Programs by coordinating quality activities, maintaining accurate records, reviewing production documentation and samples, and ensuring compliance with company, customer, quality, safety, and legal requirements.

This position works closely with Quality Assurance, Production, and other departments to monitor quality standards, support continuous improvement, maintain required documentation, and assist with audits and customer requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate daily Quality Assurance activities and support the Head of Quality Assurance.
• Review production records, quality documentation, and daily production samples for accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct and document sample retain inspections.
• Develop, update, and maintain SOPs and other Quality Assurance documents.
• Maintain spreadsheets, reports, graphs, and Quality/Safety KPIs using Microsoft Excel.
• Support the Food Safety Program, including HACCP-related activities; PCQI knowledge or certification is a plus.
• Assist with third-party audits, customer audits, and customer quality requirements.
• Assist with the development, implementation, monitoring, verification, and validation of Quality Programs.
• Maintain organized quality records, files, samples, and documentation.
• Assist with employee training, including quality, food safety, and new-hire training.
• Communicate quality requirements and concerns to Production and other departments.
• Help identify quality issues and assist with corrective actions and follow-up.
• Support continuous improvement and quality-related projects.
• Assist with production materials and other departmental needs as required.
• Perform additional Quality Assurance duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma required.
• College degree or undergraduate diploma preferred.
• Previous experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Food Safety, Packaging, Plastics, or Manufacturing preferred.
• Working knowledge of HACCP preferred.
• BRC certification or experience is a plus.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and documentation.
• Ability to read a ruler and perform basic measurements.
• Comfortable using a calculator and working with numbers.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees and management at all levels.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues, identify concerns, and seek direction when needed.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Willing to work at both locations (Pacoima and Simi)
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
