Summary: The Banquet Server ensures the Hotel’s high service standards are reached and exceeded throughout all aspects of the guests’ event experience. This guest-facing role is key for establishing meaningful relationships with guests by using a personalized approach and technical expertise to create the ultimate dining/event experience and is key to making our internal and external events a success. Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for serving all food and beverage functions according to the standards set forth by the B.E.O and the Maybourne Beverly Hills; Accommodate any guests’ special requests involving dietary restrictions, drink preferences, timing requirements and even special occasions; Offer pre-determined menu selections to each table and maintain knowledge of each selection’s, origin, taste, and preparation method; Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the Banquet Manager or kitchen; Check completed kitchen orders with the guest’s original order; Transport items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality; Prevent and correct imperfections and blemishes found throughout work space; Assist in set-up of linen, china, glass, silver, and accent pieces for each function according to the banquet event order; Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests; Ensure breakdown, clean-up and set-up of tables, buffets, and food stations. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of banquet server or related experience. Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment demonstrating patience and a friendly, professional demeanor. A service-oriented personality; possessing a pleasant and caring manner with everyone; warm, friendly and outgoing without being overbearing. Exceptional organization and time management; punctual and reliable. Ability to carry and balance a tray. Display knowledge of wines, spirits and mixed drinks. A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure and collaborate with colleagues; a team player. Willing to work flexible work schedules that include nights, weekends and holidays Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised with strong attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to speak, read, write and understand English, the primary language used in the workplace. Experience in a luxury environment is a plus. Physical Requirements: Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, use hand, finger and wrist dexterity. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility (including standing and walking) for up to 7 hours in length. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
