Position: Psychiatrist Physician Advisor – Venture Capital Fund: Healthcare Shares ( ) Location: Remote Commitment: Part-Time (2–3 hours/month) Compensation: Carried Interest in Venture Capital Fund About the Physician Advisor Role Healthcare Shares is seeking a Psychiatrist Physician Advisor to provide frontline behavioral health and psychiatric clinical insight into our investment strategy, evaluate emerging healthcare technologies, and support portfolio companies. This role is designed for practicing or former psychiatrists who want exposure to venture capital while helping shape the future of mental health care, behavioral health innovation, digital therapeutics, virtual psychiatry, and integrated care. Key Responsibilities Clinical Diligence: Evaluate startups through the lens of psychiatry, including behavioral health workflows, psychiatric assessment, medication management, crisis care, care coordination, patient engagement, and outcomes tracking. Investment Evaluation: Assess opportunities across digital mental health, telepsychiatry, AI-enabled behavioral health tools, digital therapeutics, substance use disorder treatment, care navigation, measurement-based care, virtual care, and value-based behavioral health. Portfolio Guidance: Advise founders on psychiatric workflows, provider adoption, clinical implementation, patient safety, regulatory considerations, reimbursement, and integration into health systems, payers, employers, and virtual care models. Market Insight: Identify trends in psychiatry, behavioral health, mental health access, telepsychiatry, substance use disorder treatment, medication management, collaborative care, employer mental health, and value-based care. Network Access: Connect the fund with psychiatrists, behavioral health providers, health systems, payers, employers, digital mental health companies, academic medical centers, and strategic partners. Qualifications MD or DO with Psychiatry training Active clinical practice preferred Strong understanding of psychiatric workflows, behavioral health care delivery, medication management, crisis care, and integrated care models Familiarity with reimbursement, value-based care, regulatory dynamics, patient safety, and provider adoption Interest in digital health, behavioral health innovation, healthcare technology, and venture capital Benefits Carried Interest: Participate in fund upside VC Exposure: Direct involvement in deal flow and investment decisions Impact: Shape technologies used in mental health care, behavioral health, telepsychiatry, digital therapeutics, and integrated care Flexible Commitment: Approximately 2–3 hours per month About Healthcare Shares Healthcare Shares is a venture capital fund investing in digital health, medical technology, and healthcare innovation.
