This grant-funded position will play a crucial role in providing essential services to students in grades 5-12 who are enrolled in our partner school districts, supporting their academic and personal development. Responsibilities of this position include conducting outreach, administering program assessments, planning and implementation of activities, providing academic assistance, and the overall evaluation of students’ needs. In this part‑time position you will work up to 28 hours per week. The schedule will be within 8:00-4:30 Monday-Thursday. This position includes paid planning time. Typical Work Activities Administer program assessments. Use assessment data to drive programming to meet the needs of the student population. Provide academic instruction to assist students with homework completion in the various content subject areas. Design and implement lessons, activities, and trips for students according to grant guidelines. These activities will include social and life skills improvement, academic assistance, community service, employment preparation, college readiness, enrichment or cultural activities, mentoring, civic service, leadership, sports and wellness, social and emotional skill development. Plan, develop, and conduct workshops including but not limited to financial literacy, career and college exploration, interviewing skills, resume building, effective communication, setting and achieving goals. Serve as a student advocate. Enhance collaborative relationships to maximize the student’s and family’s ability to access supportive services. Will work closely with partner school counselors to identify and case manage Liberty students. Prepare and make presentations to groups. Conduct home visits for new participants, for material drop off, and maintain ongoing home contact as needed. Other duties as assigned by the Program Director. Essential Functions Must be able to relate to a diverse student population and academic personnel; must be able to manage multiple functions; must have effective oral and written communication skills; must work well independently and as a team member; must have experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, and database management; must possess good organizational and interpersonal skills; must be able to travel between multiple Niagara County school districts, must be able to physically perform the duties of the position. Required Qualifications Associates Degree or a minimum of 30 college credit hours earned towards a Bachelors degree. A minimum of two (2) years of paid professional experience working in an educational setting. Must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation Desirable Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Two (2) years full-time paid, professional experience working with a diverse population in an educational setting; preferably working with students identified as "at risk, low income, or first generation students."
