Store Manager in Training

The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. The SMIT program enhances your career as a future store leader by providing a self-paced, collaborative training experience over 16 weeks. Training includes both virtual and hands‑on learning experiences. Your team of mentors—District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach—will support you throughout the program. Skills Needed Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to support and lead the team. Perform customer care duties to deliver high levels of service. Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth. Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability. Responsibilities Actively engage with your leader during Key Learning Experiences to support your promotion path. Support the store as a management team member and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies. Engage colleagues to support the company's purpose of "helping people on their path to better health." Accept promotion roles within the market you work in. Qualifications Willingness to accept a Store Manager role at any location within the designated market. Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores in the designated market. Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs. High school diploma or GED (required). Bachelor’s degree (preferred). Retail management experience, or experience as a CVS Supervisor. A four‑year college degree is preferred, or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
