Facility Maintenance Technician IISalary Range: $21.71 - $32.57 per hourThe Facility Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of water district buildings, and structures.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesThe duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to this position.Perform tasks, such as painting, carpentry, basic plumbing, remodeling work, other general maintenance, etc., on TRWD buildings, structures, and groundsResponsible for assigned projects from start to finish in coordination with senior Facilities staff, including, but not limited to, identifying materials and labor needs, completing the work, leading work crews, etc.Perform data entry for work orders and for timekeepingPerform and/or coordinate routine preventative maintenanceTransporting materials and equipment for maintenance projectsUphold safety standards and maintain a clean work environmentInteract and coordinate with other TRWD personnelAfter hours Emergency ResponseParticipate in an on-call rotationReport maintenance or structural issues to department supervisorParticipate in applicable condition assessmentsMaintain familiarity with strategic district levels of serviceContinuous improvement monitoring and innovation effortsMay supervise janitorial staffPerformance review alignment for janitorial staffMay review job descriptionsPerform other duties as requiredRequired ExperienceFour (4) years of facility maintenance, remodeling, or a related fieldAbility to identify materials necessary for an assigned task or projectAbility to lead others and be responsible from start to finish of assigned projectsDesired ExperienceSix (6) years of experience in facility maintenance, remodeling, or a related fieldAbility to identify labor needs for an assigned task or projectParticipation in a building trade apprenticeship or equivalentRequired Education/Certification/LicenseValid Texas driver's licenseHigh school diploma or GEDDesired Education/Certification/LicenseTrade school accreditations totaling two (2) years in a related fieldAssociate degree or equivalentSuccess Factors/Job CompetenciesGood communication skillsInfluence and motivation of othersBe self-motivated and able to work without direct supervisionAbility to understand and follow instructionsBe able to work within and promote a team environmentUphold safety standardsClean and organized work environmentComputer skillsAbility to collaborate and work well with other departmentsPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position will also work in confined spaces, on water ways such as lakes or rivers, and at various heights.
