Embark on a rewarding contract role providing skilled nursing care in an elementary school setting near Waltham, MA. This full-time opportunity runs from August 2026 through February 2027, aligning with the school year calendar. As the dedicated nurse for an elementary school, you’ll play an essential part in student health, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for children, staff, and families.

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN or LPN license in Massachusetts
• Experience in school nursing or previous pediatric care strongly preferred
• Confident working independently within an educational setting
• Proficient with health assessments, medication administration, and emergency care protocols
• Excellent communication with students, faculty, and families

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide daily health support for students and staff, addressing illnesses, injuries, and chronic conditions
• Administer prescribed medications and perform health treatments per care plans
• Maintain accurate health records and report required health data
• Respond swiftly to any medical emergencies or urgent health needs
• Collaborate with faculty and parents to promote student well-being
• Monitor health supplies and ensure compliance with state/school policies
• Educate students and staff on healthy practices and safety procedures

Your week will consist of 32–35 hours, Monday to Friday, with consistent daytime hours (8:15am–3:15pm). You’ll work independently at the school site while benefiting from a supportive school community and the regular rhythm of the academic year.
