Supervisor-Pharmacist | Specialty

Location: Integrated Services Center; Work Shift: Day Shift; Work Type: Regular; United States of America. Overview Provides patient care consistent with applicable regulations and the mission of Avera by monitoring and recommending optimal medication therapy, processing patient medication orders, and providing pharmaceutical information to staff and patients related to specific job assignments. Utilizes problem‑solving skills and accepts personal responsibility for patient outcomes. Under general supervision, guides pharmacy services and oversees staff to ensure optimal care delivery. Responsibilities Accurately interpret, process, and monitor medication orders for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriateness. Prepare and dispense medications for patients of all ages. Provide medication information, counsel patients on usage, effects, and adverse effects. Perform inventory control measures during medication distribution and administration. Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance. Perform and evaluate clinical activities such as pharmacokinetics, medication therapy monitoring, medication information, and educational programs. Monitor medication therapy including analysis of patient medication therapy, medical problems, laboratory data, and special procedures. Take an active role in continuous quality improvement activities, reporting and evaluating adverse medication events, and promoting patient safety. Recommend changes to improve quality of care and services, providing evidence of value‑added services. Establish operational and patient care delivery systems to maximize resource utilization and financial performance. Assist with the budget process as requested. Coordinate staffing models to efficiently utilize resources and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care. Maintain master and daily work schedules for designated areas. Participate in multidisciplinary teams and committees to develop, implement, and evaluate patient‑centered services. Interview, hire, develop, train, and retain employees, and manage performance, coaching, and complaints. Qualifications Pharmacist – Board of Pharmacy active in state of practice. Doctorate (PharmD) preferred. 4–6 years Retail Pharmacy Practice experience preferred. Ability to work specified hours, perform visual acuity tasks, and communicate effectively.
