Histology Technician - Pathology Lab - Full Time 8 Hour Day Shift (Union)

Job Overview The Histology Technologist is responsible for processing all tissues and fluids submitted to the department, preparing and staining tissue slides, and ensuring they are available in a timely manner for Pathologist review and interpretation. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Associate’s Degree in a related field (preferred) Minimum one year experience as a Histology Technician or Dermatology Lab Technician in an Acute Care Facility or Outpatient Surgery Setting Experience with specialized stains, cutting, embedding, computer systems, quality control (QC), inventory control, preventative maintenance, and quality improvement Three years of clinical training in an approved Histology Training Program Strong organization and time‑management skills Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills Knowledge of medical terminology ASCP certification in Histology (preferred) EEO Statement USC is an equal opportunity employer.
