Schedule This position will be working as a casual. Our partnership with the University of Minnesota Medical School and University of Minnesota Physicians provides the platform to specialize in breakthrough treatments, surgical techniques, lifesaving therapies and to train tomorrow's physicians. Clinical trials advance our clinical services, bringing the very newest ideas in patient care. This 10 bed unit will deliver care to a wide variety of critically ill adult patients. This population may include respiratory failure, sepsis, overdose/withdrawal and post op surgical patients. The RN will be responsible for close observation, hemodynamic monitoring, medication management, assistance with bedside procedures and respiratory support. Critical thinking and effective communication with all the members of the care team and families will be required. Responsibilities Assessing patient needs and identifying expected nursing outcomes; Developing an individualized nursing plan of care; Implementing interventions as needed during treatment based on the plan of care; Evaluating care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes; Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes; Coordinating care with members of the health care team and delegating responsibilities to others as appropriate; Demonstrating the ability to advance care by applying standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes; Promoting a culture of evidence based practice (EBP) by participating in a multitude of available opportunities; and Performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. Required 3 years of Adult ICU RN experience 15 years of RN experience MN RN License BLS required Preferred BSN or higher preferred Certification in related specialty is highly desired Certification by the American Association of Critical Care Nursing or in a related specialty is highly preferred Benefit Overview Fairview offers a generous benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, PTO/vacation and Safe and Sick Time, tuition reimbursement, retirement and more!
