Overview Location: Atlanta / Norcross, GA preferred. US relocation supported. The role requires significant travel. Retained search conducted by The Sterling Choice. About the role We are working with a national water and utility infrastructure business, part of a multi-billion-dollar group, to appoint a President for its Automation & Intelligence division. The division provides automation, controls, systems integration and engineered solutions to the water and wastewater sector. It has grown quickly through acquisition and is now focused on bringing those businesses together into a single, well-run organisation. The President will lead that work and take the division through its next stage of growth. Reporting to the CEO, the President holds full profit and loss responsibility for the division, which has annual revenue of approximately $100 million, around 300 employees and eight direct reports. The role carries the backing of the wider group at the most senior level. Responsibilities The President sets the strategy and leads the day-to-day running of the business. Key responsibilities include: Integrating the acquired businesses into one operating model and a consistent way of working across regions. Improving manufacturing and operational performance, and reviewing the multi-site footprint. Building and developing the leadership team, and setting clear standards of performance and accountability. Returning the division to plan and creating the conditions for sustainable, profitable growth. Working closely with the commercial organisation and supporting further acquisitions and their integration. Experience and skills Senior profit and loss leadership of a business or division, at or close to this scale. A track record of improving the performance of an industrial, manufacturing or engineered-systems business, including turnaround or restructuring situations. Experience integrating acquisitions and consolidating multi-site operations. A background in the water, utility or wider industrial infrastructure sector. Candidates from adjacent sectors will be considered. A leadership style that combines operational credibility with the ability to engage and align an organisation. This is a hands-on leadership role rather than a figurehead position. Willingness to travel extensively and maintain a visible presence across sites, particularly in the early phase. Familiarity with automation, controls, SCADA or systems-integration businesses. Deep technical expertise is not essential, as the role is supported by an experienced technical team. Experience operating in a private equity-backed or transformation environment. Package Base salary in the region of $235,000 to $275,000. Performance-related bonus of 30 to 40 percent.
