This role will focus on expanding our remediation practice by cultivating client relationships, securing new work, and managing complex environmental projects from inception through completion. The ideal candidate is both a business developer and technical leader, with a proven track record in environmental consulting, particularly within remediation programs.Key ResponsibilitiesLead strategic business development initiatives with key accounts to expand remediation services across New EnglandDevelop and maintain strong client relationships with power, industrial, commercial, and government clientsIdentify, pursue, and win new opportunities by leading proposals, RFQs/RFPs, and interviewsCollaborate with regional teams to align on growth strategiesMaintain awareness of client needs, regulatory trends, and emerging opportunitiesLead multidisciplinary project teams and mentor junior staffSupport technical excellence and innovation within the remediation practicePerform quality assurance/quality control reviews and approve environmental deliverablesSupport and ensure the implementation of Stantec Health, Safety, Security, & Environment (HSSE) Policies in the execution of all work.Metrics of success include expanding the number of client relationships, expansion of geographies served and services delivered, recruitment of new team members and building out of the high functioning account team, sales, net revenue growth, and profitability.Capabilities & CredentialsStrong understanding of environmental remediation practices and regulatory frameworks in CT, MA, and NHProven ability to drive revenue growthEstablished network within the environmental consulting marketExcellent communication, negotiation, and client management skillsDemonstrated leadership and team development experienceRequired QualificationsB.S. or M.S. in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related fieldMinimum 15+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with a strong focus on remediation and client management and growthDemonstrated success in business development and project managementExperience working with state and federal regulatory agencies in New England40 Hour HAZWOPER certification, with Annual Refreshers is required.A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record are required.Pre-employment physical is required.Preferred QualificationsProfessional licensure such as: - Professional Engineer, Professional Geologist, Licensed Site Professional (LSP) – Massachusetts, Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP) – ConnecticutExisting client portfolio or relationships that can be transitioned or expanded uponExperience managing large, complex remediation programs or portfoliosFamiliarity with Brownfields redevelopment and emerging contaminants (e.g., PFAS)This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.About StantecStantec is a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
