Job Title Lab Support Assistant II Location: Miramar, FL. Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Compensation Pay range: $17.75+ per hour. Shift differential up to 10% and 15% for second and third shift respectively. Additional details provided upon offer. Job Description The Lab Support Assistant II sorts through discarded waste from the Specimen Processing area, identifying biological specimens, and supports compliance with company and departmental policies. Responsibilities Collect all discarded waste from Specimen Processing. Sort waste consisting of paper and biological material. Deliver identified biological specimens to Lab Support Supervisor. Re‑bag and dispose of all sorted waste appropriately. Adhere to all established laboratory safety requirements. Use personal protective equipment, engineering controls, and/or work practice controls as directed by management. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Qualifications Physical and Mental Requirements Physical activity: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling. Light work (up to 25 pounds of force occasionally). Visual acuity; exposure to biological specimens, biohazard materials, and chemicals. Knowledge Proper specimen handling techniques. Skills Interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with supervisors and co‑workers. Attention to detail. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
