The Kitchen Director plays a vital role in ensuring the back-of-house runs smoothly and efficiently. This individual creates goals and strategies for all things food safety, quality, and food cost. This individual must first successfully complete the Director-in-Training program and be approved by leadership as a Kitchen Director before leading independently in their role. This training experience is comprised of four phases and is founded on Chick-fil-A’s five critical success factors: leadership, talent, customer experience, sales and brand growth, and financial stewardship . The four phases of this program include 1) Heritage, Culture, and Food Safety, 2) Operations, 3) Managing Shifts, and 4) Leading Independently. Position type: Full-time Location: Maple & Ridge, 7320 W Taft St, Wichita, KS 67209, USA Responsibilities: Manage and participate in daily operations to ensure excellent customer service is taking place (Note: This is a heavily operational role with 50% or more of time dedicated to this.) Oversee the coordination of all back-of-house operations Collaborate with the leadership team to create annual business goals and take initiative to implement changes in the back-of-house to achieve them Collaborate with leadership team to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis Monitor staff scheduling to ensure adequate back-of-house coverage and maintain labor/productivity goals Manage labor budgets, schedules, and set-ups for back-of-house teams Collaborate with Training Director to develop back-of-house employees Post monthly quality, speed, and cost goals Ensure the back-of-house team adheres to all opening and closing procedures Ensure that all quality and food safety procedures are completed each day Respond to health department findings and implement any necessary changes Maintain a rigorous cleaning schedule Work with Training Director to create implementation plans for new product rollouts Work with Marketing Director to promote a variety of products Monitor food, paper, and labor costs Stay up-to-date on required training and certifications Actively participate in bi-weekly leadership meetings Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive work culture Provide constructive feedback to employees and confront behaviors that do not align with company values or standards Requirements: 18 years of age or older upon hire date Legally eligible to perform work in the United States Education: Associate degree or higher (or equivalent experience in a related field) Availability to work flexible shifts, including Saturdays and evenings Dedication to providing exceptional service and hospitality Strong communication and decision-making skills Demonstrated leadership abilities Ability to provide constructive feedback Ability to lift 25 pounds Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401K matching program (Eligible after one year of employment for employees 21 years of age or older) Paid time off Free employee meal on shift and catering discounts Free tuition through Point University Scholarship opportunities Sundays off At Chick-fil-A®, we are committed to creating and maintaining a culture of excellence, development, service, and fulfillment.
