Manager, Manufacturing Operations (2nd Shift)

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Manager for Manufacturing Operations to lead cell therapy production on the second shift in Boston. The role involves overseeing daily operations, managing supervisors and staff, ensuring cGMP compliance, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily cell therapy manufacturing operations and production schedules
- Provide leadership and direction to Manufacturing Supervisors and frontline personnel
- Oversee cGMP compliance including equipment operation, batch documentation, and facility audits
- Partner with cross-functional teams on maintenance, investigations, deviations, and improvements
- Monitor performance metrics and drive operational improvements in safety, quality, and cost
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in scientific, technical, or engineering discipline
- 4+ years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing operations
- Prior people leadership experience managing staff and manufacturing teams
- Demonstrated competency in cGMP principles and regulatory requirements
- Working knowledge of deviation management, CAPA, and change control processes
- Proficiency with Quality by Design, Design of Experiments, and statistical process control
- Cell therapy and aseptic manufacturing experience preferred
