Position Summary:

The Safety Specialist is responsible for assisting in monitoring and coordinating the company's safety programs, including the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance, safety audits, and training. This is an in-person position in (location), and remote work arrangements are unavailable for this role.

Compensation: $65,000-$75,000

Your Role:

• Monitor and communicate compliance with Companywide safety programs such as fleet safety, lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, and other safety compliance programs.
• Advise the Safety Manager on procedures to ensure regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT).
• MMonitors track, and communicates safety incidents across the company.
• Analyze accident and incident reports for trends and make recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions.
• Leads and/or guides safety mentors and student interns.
• Assists with the investigation of incidents and injuries from initial report to closure.
• Worker's Compensation liaison with managers, employees, brokers, insurance carriers, safety, and human resources.
• Takes an active role in improving safety and health in the workplace.
• Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards.
• Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.

Requirements :

• BS/BA in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver's License and vehicle insurance.
• Ability to travel.
