Job Description

Position Overview

The Senior Medical Director, Hematology – Lymphoma leads the medical strategy for the Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma (CTCL) disease area within Hematology Medical Affairs, driving both brand medical strategy and external engagement with Opinion Leaders, community physicians, medical societies, and top accounts.

This role offers an experienced Medical Director the opportunity to lead medical strategy for a complex hematologic malignancy, engaging across the hematology-oncology, dermatology, and dermato-oncology communities while shaping how Sobi supports the CTCL patient and provider community. The Senior Medical Director will also lead launch preparatory efforts for  lacutamab , a humanized monoclonal antibody immunotherapy targeting KIR3DL2.

The Senior Medical Director serves as the lead medical voice for lymphoma and lacutamab, conceptualizing and implementing the US medical strategy for the disease area. This person reports to the  Vice President, Head of Hematology Medical Affairs , partners closely with Field Medical to engage HCPs, medical organizations, payers, and patient advocacy groups, and acts as the medical lead on the Brand Team.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Strategy & Launch Leadership

• Serve as the lead medical strategist for CTCL and lacutamab, providing strategic leadership for medical strategy, brand-aligned tactics, and external clinician engagement across academic, community, and multidisciplinary care settings
• Own launch readiness for lacutamab, including disease education, unmet need articulation, and evidence generation planning
• Contribute analytic expertise and insights to Medical Affairs deliverables

External Engagement & Field Medical Partnership

• Partner with Field Medical to develop and enhance KOL and key institution engagement plans, positioning Sobi as the scientific partner of choice for CTCL across the hematology-oncology community
• Collaborate with Field Medical on resource needs and development of field materials and tactics specific to CTCL and lacutamab
• Lead planning and execution of advisory boards and educational activities (webinars, medical roundtables, symposia, congress presence)

Insight Generation & Evidence

• Generate and share medical insights with the field team; analyze insights to inform strategy and tactical adjustments
• Contribute to evidence generation projects, real-world evidence studies, and publications supporting the CTCL disease area and lacutamab

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Build strong collaborative relationships with Market Access, Medical Information, Clinical Development, Sales, and Marketing
• Act as the medical lead on the Brand Team and support cross-functional initiatives across the organization

Culture

• Contribute to a strong team culture within Hematology/Oncology Medical Affairs, grounded in mutual respect and constructive challenge toward shared goals

 

Qualifications

Required

• MD, PhD, or PharmD
• 5+ years of Medical Director experience
• Pre-launch and/or launch experience
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate complex scientific concepts for varied audiences
• Strong ability to form meaningful, bi-directional relationships with the medical community
• Strong scientific and clinical acumen, with strategic and analytical capability
• Demonstrated leadership across core Medical Affairs functions (evidence generation, publications, medical education, strategy development)
• Willingness and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, team-based environment with colleagues at all levels
• Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and a results-driven, solution-oriented approach
• Ability to travel up to 50%, primarily domestic
• Patient-focused mindset

The base salary range for this role is $250,000 – $320,000 . Each individual offer will be determined based on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, and location. Additionally, this role is eligible for both short-term and long-term bonuses, as outlined in the plan details.
