Director of Sales (Heath and Welfare)

Position Summary This role serves as Ascensus’s external liaison, driving sales with Health and Welfare Brokers/Agents and strategic alliance platforms. Key responsibilities include partnering with Practice Leaders, Producers and Account Teams; coordinating sales activities for key office relationships; and working with Ascensus internal and external sales representatives to drive Ascensus sales and marketing. Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities Protect, secure, and properly handle all confidential data held by Ascensus to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure. Apply ERISA and plan design knowledge to discuss industry trends with Health and Welfare Brokers/Agents. Highlight Ascensus competitive advantages without negative selling. Establish and maintain productive relationships with Brokers/Agents to earn their Form5500 and ERISA Plan Document business. Coordinate wholesaling efforts with Ascensus internal sales consultants to maximize coverage and effectiveness. Remain current on industry, technical, and product knowledge. Complete management reports, expense reports, and special tasks as requested. Assist existing Brokers/Agents in retaining current business. Discuss the Health and Welfare Form5500 and related ERISA plan documents, including non‑discrimination testing, HIPAA, Wrap documents, SPDs, and Section125 plan documents. Present and review the Form5500 process and its impacts on brokers and their clients/sponsors. Communicate effectively in written and oral formats. Build strong working relationships with strategic partner platforms. Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned. Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements 3–5 years in a business development role in the Health and Welfare plan industry, or similar experience. Proven successful sales experience of retirement administrative services. Strong ERISA, plan‑design, and industry knowledge. Superior time‑management skills. Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, unsupervised environment. Proficiency with PC, CRM, and web applications. We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
