Step into a rewarding opportunity with a full-time contract position supporting a self-contained RISE classroom for 6th to 8th grade students. This role requires a passionate Special Education Teacher ready to make a meaningful impact throughout the full school year, working 37.5 hours per week. Located near Des Plaines in the Melrose Park area, you'll play a key role in an inclusive environment dedicated to empowering students with diverse learning needs.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification for Illinois
• Experience working with middle school students preferred
• Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
• Ability to foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere
• Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction in a RISE self-contained classroom for grades 6-8
• Develop, adapt, and deliver individualized lesson plans to meet varied learning needs
• Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and administration to achieve student goals
• Facilitate IEP meetings and ensure compliance with all documentation requirements
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Nurture positive relationships with students to encourage academic, social, and emotional growth
