Position Overview

We are seeking two Special Education Teachers to join a school team in the Maywood, IL for the remainder of the school year. Both positions are full-time opportunities supporting students in self-contained special education classrooms.

Available Openings

Opening 1: 6th–8th Grade

• Self-contained classroom
• Middle school-aged students
• Provide specialized instruction and individualized support based on student needs and IEP goals

Opening 2: 3rd–5th Grade

• Self-contained classroom
• Elementary-aged students
• Provide specialized instruction and individualized support based on student needs and IEP goals

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver specialized instruction aligned with students' IEPs
• Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Monitor and document student progress toward academic and functional goals
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and individualized learning strategies
• Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, families, and school staff
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals
• Maintain accurate student records and required documentation

Requirements

• Valid Illinois LBS1 endorsement/license
• No pending or emergency licenses accepted
• Special education classroom experience preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience working with elementary or middle school students preferred
